Mario Everaldo
Biography
I was born in Pesqueira, Pernambuco, on July 21, 1954. After completing high school, I entered Universidade Federal de Pernambuco to study a bachelor's degree in Physics. After finishing my bachelor's degree in Physics, I completed my master's degree in Nuclear Engineering (without defending a thesis) between March 1978 and June 1979 and thus obtained a specialization in Nuclear Engineering. In July 1979 I entered the master's program in Physics and completed it 3 years later.
The master's thesis work was in nonlinear optics on the absorption of two photons in hexagonal CdS. Soon afterwards, I received a scholarship from CNPq to pursue a PhD degree at the University of Illinois at Chicago from September 1982 on. I completed the PhD degree in 1989 and became a professor at Universidade Federal de Sergipe (UFS) in January 1990. And I continue being a professor at UFS to this day.
